Location: The Republic of Serbia is located in South east Europe, in the central part of the Balkan peninsula, at the intersection of the Pan European Corridors 10 and 7, on the way from Europe to Asia.

Population: The population of Serbia, according to mid-2002 census, is 7,898,000. The population density is 111 inhabitants per square km.
Language: Serbian
Capital: Belgrade is the capital of Serbia. With a population of about 1.7million, it is also the political, economic and cultural centre of Serbia.
Currency: TheSerbian currency is the Dinar, divided into 100 paras.
Airports: Belgrade and Nis (250 km southeast of Belgrade) are the main airports which receive international flights. Belgrade airport has daily connections to all major cities and airports in Europe. There are 19 other smaller airports.
